Description
Published byLagar La Primilla is a family winery located in the Sierra de Montilla, in the Montilla-Moriles wine-growing area, with a winemaking tradition dating back to the 19th century.
Today, the winery is run by the fourth and fifth generations of winemakers, who preserve the essence of traditional winemaking while adapting to modern methods.
La Primilla is renowned for producing "en rama" wines, i.e. wines that have not undergone any stabilisation processes and therefore preserve their flavours and aromas in their purest state, providing an authentic experience of local wines.
The vineyards of La Primilla benefit from "albarizo" soils rich in calcium carbonate, an ideal microclimate and gradients of terrain that enhance the quality of the grapes. This winery is also one of the few places that maintains the old name "lagar," a reference to the ancient method of treading grapes in the press.
In addition to its wine production, Lagar La Primilla offers guided tours that include tasting options, tapas and lunch and are adapted to different languages. It is therefore a fascinating place to the visit for wine lovers and anyone interested in the history of Andalusian winemaking.
