Pepe Espaliú Art Centre

The Pepe Espaliú Art Centre is located in a refurbished building in Córdoba. The original building was a two-storey private house with a porticoed patio and was completely refurbished in 2010 to display the collection of the artist Pepe Espaliú belonging to Vimcorsa, the owner of the building together and the Córdoba City Council.
The inauguration as the Pepe Espaliú Art Centre tokk place in October 2010. This building houses a permanent exhibition of 37 works by the Cordoban artist Pepe Espaliú (1955-1993) purchased by Vimcorsa in 2008. This collection is complemented by works owned by the Córdoba City Hall and the heirs of Carlos González Espaliú. This makes a total of 45 works that represent the entire career of this artist who was an essential part of Spanish art in the nineties. Espaliú is, in fact, the only creator from Córdoba who has been given an individual exhibition in three of the great art centres in Spain: Pepe Espaliú, 1986-1993, Pabellón Mudejar, Seville (1994); Pepe Espaliú, Reina Sofía Art Centre National Museum, Madrid (2002) and at the Círculo Intimo: the world of Pepe Espaliú, Valencian Institute of Modern Art, Valencia (2016)
