Inside the Romantic Banditry Theme Centre you can also find the Tourist Information Office of the Land of José María El Tempranillo. As well as being a building that tells visitors about the history of romantic banditry, it contains other tourist resources that exist in the six municipalities that make up the Route through the Land of José María El Tempranillo.
The Romantic Banditry Theme Centre is located in the town of Jauja (Lucena) and is the main pillar of the tourist product Lands of José Mª "El Tempranillo" . It is a four-story building, with a 450+ m2 exhibition space divided into five rooms or themed areas connected to the phenomenon of romantic banditry.
Through the tour, interpretive panels and interactive materials, visitors can discover the reality of the phenomenon of Romantic Banditry, which emerged in the 19th century in Andalusia.
The most modern exhibition technology, such as audiovisuals, holograms and 3D projections will make you feel like a bandit for a day. The themed areas that make up this centre are:
1. José María El Tempranillo: in this area you can go on a journey through the life of this famous bandit, highlighting the most interesting episodes of his short but intense life that turned him into a legend.
2. The Legend of José María: With a 3D projection, visitors will be able to put themselves in the bandit's shoes, seeing life through his eyes.
3. Roots of banditry: This room tells visitors about the social and economic differences that existed during the 19th century, as well as the historic and political context of that time, which gave rise to the flourishing of the social phenomenon of banditry.
4. The world of bandits: Visitors will find out how they lived, how they used to rob people and they survived in the mountains.
5. Romantic travellers: This last area shows an audiovisual presentation about the adventures of an English traveller who visits the municipalities of the Land of José María El Tempranillo.
