Style: Gothic-Mudejar-Renaissance-Baroque-Neo-Gothic. Chronology: 13th to 19th centuries. Former Aljama Mosque and Major Collegiate Church between 1259 and 1852. It is built on archaeological subsoil from the Copper Age.
This church, Major Parish Church of Úbeda, is the most important example of overlapping of architectural styles in the city. On the front, which is late Renaissance in style like the side, the relief of the Adoration of the Shepherds stands out, based on a portrait of Italian painter Zuccaro. The east door, called La Consolada, is important because the image of Jesús Nazareno is carried out at dawn on Good Friday.
Inside we find an interesting 15th century cloister, as well as noble chapels built in the 15th and 16th centuries and numerous pieces of ironwork and paintings in many different styles.
The most important scenes of the film "Captain Alatriste" were shot here.
