Description
Published byQuite transformed after the works from just a few years ago, the Imperial Fountain of Segura de la Sierra has a rectangular pillar annexed to a wall which, flanked by rodeos and finished with fells of Gothic inspiration, is divided into three sections by adjoining columns. The central, wider, presents an imperial coat of arms while the side ones present distinguished arms.
The fountain has two spouts framed by ogee arches and a fountain, separated from the front by a horizontal space where water flows towards the font and can be used. Of both Gothic and Renaissance styles, its construction dates from the early 16th century.
The fountain was built in honour of Emperor Charles V commemorating his visit to Segura de la Sierra. Of a flamboyant Gothic style, it belongs to the Modern Age.
