Description
Published byThe Úbeda Archaeological Museum is located in a 14th century building known as Casa Mudéjar, behind the Church of San Pablo. It was opened and founded in 1973 by Rafael Vaño Silvestre who is responsible for the nucleus of the museum. In the interior courtyard you'll find parts of a mill and two beautiful Iberian lions from Ubeda La Vieja; the rest of the museum is devoted to Roman remains from the same site; to the right there is a hall devoted to Prehistory.
In Iberian hall of the Úbeda Archaeological Museum, on the first floor, there are exhibits of urns, vases and other objects from the necropolis of Castellones de Ceal (Hinojares) and votive offerings from Santa Elena and Castellar; the latter are unique since they are ceramics (head of a woman, lady, and lady with child)
