The Acci Roman Theatre can be visited in Guadix (Granada). This amazing theatre, built in the 1st century AD, is a testament to the splendour of the ancient Colonia Iulia Gemella Acci colony. With room for thousands of spectators, this monumental building was divided into three main parts: the stage, the orchestra, and the cavea. It was built to provide entertainment for the colony's growing population, thus reflecting the Roman lifestyle. Today, it is one of the most important archaeological sites in Andalusia, comparable to those of Mérida and Cartagena.
