The Las Salesas neighborhood is one of the city's most interesting shopping areas. On one hand, there are small but excellent shops where elegant, urban design maintains a cutting-edge look without losing its local charm. For now, it remains untouched by the arrival of large franchises. An oasis of concept stores for shopping addicts, influencers, Instagrammers, and trendsetters, but with a distinctly Spanish feel.
Its sidewalks are home to some of the best designers, young yet established, on the vibrant Spanish fashion scene, such as Lemoniez —Argensola, 17— one of the most acclaimed Spanish designers; or the Ailanto label —Orellana, 14— by twin brothers Iñaki and Aitor Muñoz.
You can visit the store of designer Jorge Vázquez —Orellana, 12; Or NAC —Genoa, 18— where, in addition to clothing, you can find various accessories such as jewelry, belts, and handbags. And at Piamonte, 17, you'll find Delitto e Castigo, which has become a benchmark for fashion and luxury in Madrid, as well as MATTUÎ Collection (Almirante, 10), perfect for guest and party looks. Also noteworthy is Sessùn Madrid (Fernando VI, 13), which has become popular thanks to its timeless, elegant, bohemian, and very romantic aesthetic. The designer Jorge Acuña—Almirante, 11—is a space dedicated to haute couture where you can purchase a pre-made design or a new one created according to your own tastes and needs. At Stüssy—Argensola, 10—you can find comfortable and casual clothing for young urbanites and athletes; And at HOOK—Argensola, 5—they offer men's fashion produced sustainably and ethically in Spain. For book lovers, the Taschen Store Madrid—Barquillo, 30—, from the famous German publisher, carries its entire catalog, as well as English versions of some books, and multilingual editions in Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and German, French, and English.
Concept Stores and Specialty Shops
This area also stands out as one of the meccas of the new concept store trend, shops that offer diverse products, but with a common thread or style that connects all the pieces, such as Despacio Concept Store—Belén, 10—, with its carefully curated selection of accessories, shoes, home decor, and gadgets; Gion—Barquillo, 18—, which brings fashion and everyday objects with a common link: they come from Japan; or the intriguing González & González —Pelayo, 68—, a bold bet on the future with timeless products, objects, and designs: their philosophy is that if something is well made, there's no need to change it. The neighborhood also boasts specialized and niche shops, always with exquisite taste.
