With over a century of tradition and expertise in cultivating and harvesting olives and producing olive oil, Cortijo La Torre is the perfect place to introduce you to a world of sensations inspired by extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and the rich culture of olive cultivation. Almazara Cortijo La Torre is located in the municipality of Arjona, in the province of Jaén. Their mill, backed by over a century of tradition and expertise in olive cultivation, offers a unique opportunity to explore their family history, guided by the people behind it, and to immerse yourself in the olive culture that defines Jaén’s identity and landscapes. Enjoying quality olive oil on a slice of rustic bread is a delight, but understanding where it comes from, how it’s made, and its unique qualities makes the experience even more enjoyable. At Cortijo La Torre, your visit will be a unique experience, blending the history of the farmhouse with the rich flavours and aromas of extra virgin olive oil, set amidst a sea of olive trees, some of which are centuries old.
Cortijo La Torre has a rich history, spanning from the 19th century to the present day, with countless stories held within its walls. The most notable story is that it served as a place of rest and retreat for Francisco Serrano y Domínguez, Duke of la Torre, better known as "General Serrano". This is where our experience begins, in partnership with Tasted Room, taking you on a journey through General Serrano's life, exploring the scents, flavours, and stories that shaped his life. A unique olive oil tourism experience, where you can stroll through the corners of Cortijo la Torre, where General Serrano once rode his horse and shared oil tastings with nobles and politicians, while also enjoying the company of the farmers and labourers who worked there. This journey is accompanied by small bites featuring the premium AOVE Cortijo la Torre, connecting the experience and stimulating all your senses. Are you ready?
Its extra virgin olive oil is distinguished not only by its high organoleptic quality but also by its contribution of vitamins A, D, E, and K. This has allowed Cortijo La Torre to earn over a hundred international awards that recognise the tradition, sustainability and quality of its AOVE. In addition to visiting the mill and taking part in an olive oil tasting, you can also purchase some of these award-winning oils in their shop.
