Description
Published byThe Chapel of El Dulce Nombre de Jesús, located in the historic centre of Seville, is an important Catholic church. Established in 1542 as a residence for repentant women, it was transformed into an Augustinian convent in 1551. After the confiscation of church property in 1837, the building was used as housing, while the church remained open. This church is the headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Vera Cruz, one of the oldest brotherhoods in Seville, which holds an annual procession on the afternoon and eve of Easter Monday during Holy Week.
