Tesoro de la Macarena is a museum in the Basílica de la Esperanza Macarena in Seville, which seeks to preserve and exhibit the historical and artistic heritage of the Macarena Brotherhood. This space offers visitors an in-depth look at the history of the brotherhood and the Holy Week in Seville. The Macarena Brotherhood was founded in 1595 and has witnessed centuries of devotion and tradition. Tesoro de la Macarena was created with the aim of preserving and showcasing objects of historical and artistic value accumulated over the years, including clothing, jewellry, documents and other significant items. The audio guide service allows visitors to enjoy the experience while listening to high-quality audio and interesting information, during which text, music and ambient sound will enhance their experience, making the visit a very enjoyable one in each exhibition room. Moreover, the printed guide provides a comprehensive study of the items showcased in Tesoro de la Macarena, with plenty of pictures.
A visit to Tesoro de la Macarena will help visitors enjoy the historical identity of a four-hundred-year-old institution and, at the same time, as an inseparable part of the same reality, the contemporary and modern image with which it is currently projected.
Tesoro de la Macarena is a dynamic space, which showcases very important historical items, maintaining a cutting-edge and original exhibition all year round, with the traditional elements of liturgy, the internal cults and, of course , of the Sevillians in the early hours of Good Friday.
