The House of Santa Teresa is at number 66 in what used to be the Calle Pajarería (now Calle Zaragoza, 60) that was bought in 1576 by the Brothers of Santa Teresa and the cleric García Álvarez for six thousand Ducats to accommodate the six nuns who accompanied the Saint in her labours when founding the Order of the Carmelites in Seville.
The façade of the house was preserved intact with a few slight modifications until 1882 when it was completely refurbished. This refurbishment affected the interior distribution and the façade above all, which was rebuilt under a new design following the stylistic patterns of a Neo-Classical composition in accordance with 19th-century Sevillian architecture (glassed in balconies, etc.). In 1924 it was refurbished again by Vicente Traver with a view to recovering a more primitive aspect.
