After a comprehensive renovation, the Navigation Pavilion, built for the Seville Expo in 1992, has now been recovered for the general public. The Navigation Pavilion forms part of the legacy which the Expo left Andalusia on the Island of la Cartuja.
The Pabellón de la Navegación is now a space made up of different areas within the building, including the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibition hall, library, observation tower and multipurpose rooms. The permanent exhibition, under the slogan "Seville and Atlantic navigation", shows the most salient human and technical aspects of the world of navigation.
Activities are an essential part of the Navigation Pavilion, complementing the exhibition experience through education, leisure and adventure. Organised group activities are available for students and other groups, as well as special activities, such as weekend workshops or birthday parties.
Its flexible and versatile spaces adapt to any event or meeting in an unbeatable setting with views of the Guadalquivir, in the historic centre of Seville and 15 minutes from the airport and the AVE high-speed train station. Access is via the outdoor esplanade next to the river (4000 m2), an ideal place for receiving visitors or exhibiting large-format pieces. Inside, a large hall leads to the multipurpose rooms.
