Next to the Plaza de Cibeles and the Paseo del Prado, in the Landscape of Light, stands this neoclassical palace with Renaissance decoration, where the Madrid Stock Exchange trades. It is one of the city's architectural landmarks, designed by Enrique María Repullés y Vargas, who won a competition held by the Madrid Stock Exchange Works Board in 1884, presenting a project modeled after the Vienna Stock Exchange building.

It opened its doors on May 7, 1893, and was inaugurated by Queen María Cristina. Its façade measures 66 meters. With an irregular floor plan, the imposing hexastyle portico of its façade stands out, featuring fluted Corinthian columns, side pavilions, and a beautiful staircase. In the atrium, there are four reliefs representing Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, and Navigation. Inside, the grand Trading Hall stands out, with its semicircular apse and iron and glass roof. One of its most prominent features is the Stock Exchange Clock, a replica of the one in Amsterdam. Its mechanism was built in Strasbourg. It has three dials that indicate trading time, and a fourth that acts as a barometer, but which is broken, always showing fluctuating time. The building also houses the BME Documentation Center, a space open to the entire investment community where its documentary collections, selected over decades, form a select bibliography specializing in economic, financial, and market topics. These documents can be accessed through an online catalog or in person at the Stock Exchange Palace Library. This facility offers lending and in-library consultation services.

The building is currently the headquarters of BME (Spanish Stock Exchanges and Markets), as well as being the headquarters of the Madrid Stock Exchange.
