Description
Published byEl Valdeflores Palace, also known as the Palace of the Marquis of Valdeflores, is located in Málaga's historic centre. Built in the mid-18th century and partly altered in the 19th century, the palace adjoins the old city wall. The facade is 17.25 metres wide, divided into the ground floor, mezzanine and two upper floors. One of the most outstanding features is the austere white marble lintelled portal, flanked by fluted pilasters on pedestals that support the first-floor balcony. The interior is organised around a square courtyard with semicircular arches supported by Tuscan marble columns on three sides. The upper rooms feature the original fireplaces and ceilings, as well as oil paintings attributed to José Fernández de Alvarado and dating from 1896.
