Description
Published byThe Local History Museum in El Ejido, Almería, offers an insight into the town's past, from the earliest-known occupations to the end of the Roman period. The museum features an archaeological collection that traces the development of the societies that inhabited the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula from 3000 BCE to antiquity. One of the most notable pieces is a Roman mosaic discovered at the Ciavieja archaeological site in 1984, which bears witness to the artistic sophistication of the period. The display is complemented by explanatory panels on archaeological methods and the conservation of the remains found, providing an educational approach to archaeology.
