Minaret of Salares

The Minaret of Salares is a gem of Almohad architecture in Andalusia. Its imposing shape, made of red brick and richly decorated with sebka, contrasts with the white houses of the town and is an unmissable landmark. Although it was modified in the 16th century to adapt it to Christian worship, it retains its original essence and is considered one of the most beautiful works of Almohad art in the Iberian Peninsula. It was designated a National Monument in 1979 in recognition of its historic and artistic value.
