Taxco

There are places, like Taxco, that owe their history and appearance to the bounty of their soil, and it was silver that determined this town's destiny. Its people still make a living from the trade and manufacture of objects made possible by this precious metal; the Baroque buildings erected during the mining boom of the colonial era are also still preserved. Any rooftop terrace is a good place to admire these jewels of yesteryear; the newer, smaller ones must be sought out among the cobblestone streets that wind up and down the hills.
