Industrial Tourism:
Guided and self-guided tours of the oldest distillery in Spain. In 1860 Rafael Reyes Rodríguez, embarked on an international success story that has now reached the 5th generation of the family. However, it was in 1876 when the prestigious distillery ‘MACHAQUITO’ was officially founded, named after the famous builtfighter Rafael González Madrid.
How do we do it? You will see the fire of the boilers with two tons of olive wood heating 4 gigantic and centenary copper stills which, in 24h cycles, distil the mixture of water, beet alcohol with certified quality, coming from the north of France, and matalahúga (green aniseed) cultivated exclusively for MACHAQUITO in the fertile tongue of land from Loja to Ronda, to produce the inimitable Anís de Rute. In the maceration room, cherries and coffee are impregnated with an aniseed base to produce smooth liqueurs, as natural and exquisite as those you would make at home. The bottling room prepares, at a rate of 2,800 units per hour, the elixir of life to supply the most prestigious liquor stores. We propose an immersion of experiences that will activate your senses and make you travel from the history to the avant-garde of the prestigious Rute Distillery.
