Called Las Vistillas because of its magnificent views of the banks of the Manzanares River and the Casa de Campo park, it is also a place where famous festivals and popular celebrations are held. On sunny days, this small wooded park fills with terraces, which become ideal outdoor seating areas for watching a spectacular sunset. The 1.74-hectare garden was designed in the 1930s and 40s by architects Fernando García Mercadal (1932) and Manuel Herrero Palacios (1945). They created a first section surrounded by a low wall, accessed by stairs, a seating area with trees, a central fountain, and distinct lawns, granite walkways, lampposts, and a bust of the renowned Spanish painter, Ignacio Zuloaga. The gardens are notable for the statue of La Violetera (The Violet Seller), a work by sculptor Santiago de Santiago, which represents the famous Argentine vedette Celia Gámez (1905-1992).
