Where the sea and wind comb each other before entering La Concha Bay
The Comb of the Wind is a set of three steel sculptures, each weighing over 9 tons, located where the city ends and the sea begins, where the waves embrace the steep cliffs of Mount Igueldo.

Eduardo Chillida anchored the three sculptures to the rocks so that the wind always blows towards La Concha Bay.

A place where the sea and wind battle fiercely, lashing the rocks. Where nature and art merge, seeming to become one. And the placement of the sculptures makes them appear to emerge from the rock itself, as if they were part of it. On days when the sea rages, the Wind Comb becomes a unique spectacle in which the waves dance among the sculpture's prongs, defying the strength of the steel, to the sound of the whistling wind. An unparalleled sight in which, besides delighting in watching how the three steel pieces withstand the continuous onslaught of the waves, you can play with the wind and the sea, which merge to leap mischievously like a geyser through the square holes. But be careful, don't get distracted because you'll become the perfect target. On days of rough seas, the police may close access for your safety. The Wind Comb is a special sculpture because of its shape, the environment in which it stands, but also because of the story it holds. Because, although we can see three sculptures in San Sebastián, Chillida actually created a series of 23. In fact, their original name is El Peine del Viento XV (The Comb of the Wind XV), meaning they occupy the fifteenth position in that series of 23 sculptures. In the late 1960s, and considering that Eduardo Chillida was already becoming a prominent figure, several residents of San Sebastián joined together to organize a tribute. More than 10 years had to pass before the San Sebastián City Council decided to honor the artist's work in a place that was special to him. When Chillida was a child, he would escape to this spot to enjoy the beauty of the sea and the waves.
