Description
Published byThe San Juan or Estrechos footbridge is a pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the Gállego River in Zaragoza. It connects the rural neighborhood of San Juan de Mozarrifar with Montañana and the road to the Cartuja del Aula Dei monastery, near the football fields of both neighborhoods. Built in the wake of the Zaragoza 2008 International Exposition, it was part of the investment by the Spanish Ministry of the Environment, through the Ebro River Basin Authority, in the restoration of the Gállego Riverbank, although it was inaugurated on March 25, 2009, after the exposition had concluded. It forms part of the plan for the section from the Urdán Weir, approximately 3 km long.2 With a length of 162.9 meters, of which 50.47 meters comprise the central span and the remainder is distributed between the ramp on the right (44.2) and left (68.21) banks.2 Constructed primarily of wood, part of its central structure is, however, made of steel.
