The Madrid headquarters of Casa Árabe is located in a neo-Mudejar building erected in 1886 on Alcalá Street, next to the north entrance of El Retiro, which housed the Aguirre Schools at the end of the 19th century. This venue organizes exhibitions, conferences, and courses related to Arab and Spanish culture with the aim of strengthening and consolidating the multifaceted relationship with Arab and Muslim countries. Casa Árabe has locations in Córdoba and Madrid and is supported by various public institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, the Autonomous Communities of Madrid and Andalusia, and the City Councils of Madrid and Córdoba. The building it occupies was designed by the architect Emilio Rodríguez Ayuso, who conceived it as a two-story building capable of housing highly innovative educational spaces for the time, such as a gymnasium, library, school museum, playground, music room, and even a meteorological observatory located in the tower. Since February 18, 2025, Casa Árabe has held the distinction of being a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the Monument category. This designation, granted by the Spanish Council of Ministers, aims to protect its historical and artistic heritage, increase awareness of it, and take appropriate measures for its proper conservation. Casa Árabe Terrace: During the summer months, Casa Árabe reopens this garden terrace where you can enjoy summer cocktails, tapas featuring the best Arabic recipes, and a variety of music.
