Description
Published byThe Salinas del Astur salt flats, located in Punta Umbría, Huelva, were built by the Asturian Antonio Sánchez Allende-Valledor in the 1920s, originally known as the "El Astur" salt flats. Today, the Salinas del Astur Aquaculture Farming Centre, situated near the Marismas del Odiel Natural Site, focuses on aquaculture and environmental tourism. It offers activities such as safe recreational fishing, nature trails, birdwatching and photography, as well as educational programs for schools.
You can enjoy a day in the heart of nature and taste the fish caught on-site at the picnic area, featuring mainly gilthead bream, sea bass and sole. Enhance your visit with a canoe ride and observe a wide variety of birds in the Paraje Natural Marismas del Odiel, where we are located.
