The National Music Auditorium is an organization under the auspices of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (Ministry of Culture and Sport) and is located in the Chamartín district. Designed by the architect José María García de Paredes, it was inaugurated on October 21, 1988, and its construction was part of the National Auditorium Plan, designed to provide the country with adequate musical infrastructure. In 2025, it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest. The ANM plays a significant role in the world of music, making its facilities available to individuals and public or private entities for musical activities. Its two concert halls, the Symphony Hall and the Chamber Hall, with capacities of 2,338 and 688 seats respectively, allow for up to four concerts to be held daily, in afternoon and evening sessions. The Spanish National Orchestra and Choir and the Spanish National Youth Orchestra are based here, as well as the National Center for Musical Diffusion (CNDM). The auditorium also has two cafes open during concerts and a shop.
