A small palace dating from the early 20th century in the Chamberí district, a municipal space ceded by the Madrid City Council, houses this center, inaugurated in 2018, which serves as a bridge for cultural exchange and knowledge sharing between Mexico and Spain. It is part of the Embassy of Mexico in Spain. The 2,700-square-meter building has four floors that include the Fondo de Cultura Económica bookstore “Martín Luis Guzmán,” an auditorium, a shop specializing in folk art, exhibition halls, a permanent collection of Mexican art, space for community workshops, a culinary classroom, and the Puntarena Mexican restaurant. It also houses the Mexican Institute in Spain and the Octavio Paz Library, the most comprehensive library on Mexican topics in Madrid.
