San Miguel Market

Opened in May 1916 as a food market, this century-old establishment (one of the few and finest examples of iron architecture in the city) became Madrid's first gastronomic market in May 2009. During 2018, the market underwent a period of consolidation for much of its culinary offerings, featuring renowned chefs from both Spain and abroad.

Located in the heart of Habsburg Madrid and attracting over 7 million visitors annually,

the Mercado de San Miguel is the city's gastronomic temple.

Inside, you can sample top-quality products from different parts of the country: from tapas made with the freshest fish and seafood from the Galician coast to a wide variety of gourmet cheeses from across Spain, not forgetting the meats, fruits, vegetables, pastries, and countless other options spread across the more than 30 stalls that make up the market. Among its offerings are the traditional rice dishes of Rodrigo de la Calle (1 Michelin star) at Paella, or the classic tapas of the Arzabal Group at Arzabal, among many others. Following its reopening in July 2021, four new stalls have been added: Madreamiga, an artisan bakery located in Madrid, brought to you by baker Begoña San Pedro, chef Clara Villalón, and Hugo Rodríguez de Prada, co-founder of Grosso Napoletano; Prrimital and its selection of meats; Picolisto's tortillas and Quesería Quesoba, a Cantabrian company that produces artisanal cheeses with milk from cows that graze in high mountain meadows. In this way, the market's fixed and mobile stalls, in addition to those already mentioned, include El Señor Martín, Martín Tenazas (Lobster House), Baolé, Crab Crab Crab, Pinkleton & Wine, Daniel Sorlut, La hora del Vermut, El 19 de San Miguel, Felixia, Madrí, La Casa del Bacalao, Morris, Mozzarella Bar, Más Gourmets / Carrasco Ibéricos, Arzábal Croquetería, La Pizzeta, Ahumados Domínguez, Las brochetas de Alcaravea, La Spritzeria, Cervezas Damm, Albóndigas San Miguel, Fuerza: la Hojaldrería, Sr. Chan, Sra. Lee, Hermanos Pollo y Tatún.
