Museum of the Public Baths of Caesaraugusta
MuseumZaragoza, Spain
Description
Published by
The Public Baths were a meeting point for Roman high society, located in the center of Caesaraugusta, between the Forum and the Theater.
This museum is the smallest of all those belonging to Caesaraugusta, and in it you can see the porticoed pool of almost 10 meters, part of the latrines, pipes, and sewers that served these baths.
These architectural remains date from the 1st century BC and were in use until the 4th century AD.
The Public Baths of Caesaraugusta, in addition to serving as a place for personal hygiene, also had an important function in social and cultural life.
